Want to know something else? Sometimes I dream about how I should start my blog, and I think I had a pretty good intro in my dream last night, but then I forgot it when I woke up this morning. Maybe I should take some B12 (Here’s to you, Chelsie). Anyway, sorry there wasn’t much of an intro in this entry.
Well, this week a few things happened that maybe would make decent stories, but I figure it’s been awhile since I’ve doled out some spiritual substance. So here it is.
I’ve been thinking about the things that I’m going to take with me after my mission. Lessons learned, etc., etc. And I honestly think the thing that will keep on resonating with me throughout the eternities is love. Specifically the love of Christ, and the love of our Father in Heaven, and the way people here on earth reach out in love to one another, and how to love (not a Lil Wayne reference), and how sweet it is to be loved by you (definitely a James Taylor reference). But really, that’s what I’m learning.
I want you to know that Jesus Christ loves you, and through Him you can be healed of all of your sins, sicknesses, and sorrows. I want you to know that I love you, and never before have I had such a powerful testimony of eternal families (and friends). I want nothing more than to see all of you in the celestial kingdom. No empty chairs!
And I really want you to know that Heavenly Father is aware of you, and has a plan for you. He has made that abundantly clear in my life. He knew that I needed to be serving in the Grand Junction YSA ward, where I would be surrounded by some of the coolest people I have ever met. He definitely knew that I needed to have one of my very best friends from home serving in this same mission. (In fact while we’re on the subject, would someone tell the Rodriguez family that having JoyceAnn here has been the tenderest of mercies?) He knows everything, and He’s molding us into the people He wants us to become. So if you don’t know why you’re at where you’re at in life, take some time to try to figure it out.
Summary: Jesus loves you, so do I, Heavenly Father has a plan for you, go love everyone.
In case any of you are interested to hear my New Years Resolution, here it is: I’m going to read the entire standard works. OT, NT, BoM, D&C, and PoGP. Except for maybe Songs of Solomon, which may or may not be inappropriate reading material for missionaries.
That’s all for now. See you on the other side.

Not sure this will get to you, but this is JoyceAnn’s dad. I read your posts and saw this one this afternoon. Thank you for the comments about JA. I know she is grateful to have you in the mission also. You have been a very positive influence on her and we are thankful.
Remember, in the end, everything will be OK. If it’s not OK, it’s not the end.
