Little hey little ho!
This week several things of note happened:
1. We had zone conference, where we learned about a new finding method called the survey approach. We just tell people we’re taking a short survey about family, God, etc. and ask if they’d be so kind as to help us out. Then we share an abbreviated version of the first lesson. It is literal magic.
2. After zone conference our mission president approached Sister Allen and I and asked if we had room for a third companion at Sister Carpenter’s house. So that happened, and our new companion, Sister Jones, arrived on Saturday.
3. Remember how my companion is a photographer? Well.
4. While approaching the door of some investigators, we couldn’t help but notice an overwhelming stench of marijuana, some rather devilish music, and lots of shouting. But we knocked anyway (first mistake). From behind the door, someone starts shouting “who is it?!” We say we’re the missionaries, and our investigator, Rambo, opens the door. Upon seeing us he breathes a sigh of relief and says “oh, I thought you were someone else.” He then goes on to explain that he just got out of jail and things are kind of crazy right now. We nod understandingly, when a man from further inside, sporting a white wife beater, starts screaming at us and Rambo. He’s just repeating “Tell them to leave Rambo! Not at this time! Not at this time!” So, we left. And probably will never go back.
5. Quote of the week:
Me: “Would you mind if we mute the tv while we pray?”
Antonio: “Uh… it’s kind of heavy… are you sure you want me to move it?”
And that’s all I’ve got to say about that.
PS Best wishes for the best Easter ever.
